Curtain Rod or Curtain Rail – Which One Suits Your Space?
Curtain rods are perfect for curtains with eyelets or drawstring headings, where the rod threads directly through the fabric. Since the rod remains visible, it becomes part of the overall design, making it a great opportunity to select a rod with a decorative or stylish finish to enhance the look.
On the other hand, curtain rails offer a more discreet option. Curtains are hung using hooks, allowing the rail to stay hidden for a cleaner and more subtle appearance.
Getting the Right Size
For both curtain rods and rails, it’s recommended to choose a width around 20% wider than your window. Install it approximately 8-10 cm above the window frame or even directly on the ceiling for added height. This way, you can fully draw the curtains aside without blocking the window, letting in as much natural light as possible.
